Everyone's favorite red carpet fashion show (well, everyone who loves and/or appreciates FASHUN) happened on the 1st Monday of May. The theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
Basically, if the well-known person chooses to, they'll dress in homage of Mr. Lagerfeld (see above photo of Ke Huy Quan in Dior Men for example) or the many houses he oversaw including Balmain, Chanel, and Fendi.
Compared to years past, this red carpet was just okay. No "WOW!" moment. Or even a viral/watercooler moment...besides the cockroach who made an appearance.
Let's get into some of my favorites:
Cardi B in Chenpeng Studio |
Anok Yai in Prabal Gurung |
Kerry Washington in Michael Kors |
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in Thom Browne I absolutely LOVE when men appreciate fashion. Since his team didn't make the NBA playoffs, Shai is clearly using his free time wisely. He looks fantastic. |
Teyana Taylor in Thom Browne |
Michaela Coel in Schiaparelli Couture This is actually an ugly dress but it has a lot of impact. The hair, makeup, and accessories are all on point. Small nitpick - wrong shoes. |
Halle Bailey in Gucci See our Ariel looking all angelic and sultry at the same damn time. |
Sora Choi in Thom Browne |
