With a new season come opportunities to try something, well, new.
The last time I was at the Fogo de Chao, it was to celebrate the launch of their partnership with Vik Winery. I recall my stomach was beyond full with all of the food and wine/liquor offerings. This time around, I had the opportunity to try out the restaurant's new spring menu items.
It was suggested to pair some of the items with Vik Winery's new wine - Eulila. This red wine is an exclusive blend specially made for the Brazilian steakhouse and honors the Chief Culture Officer of Fogo de Chao, Eulila "Selma" Oliveira. I'm more of #teamwhitewine but my photographer, Arielle, sampled Eulila and noted the smooth, smoky flavor.
My spring item favorite from the market table was the Roasted Cauliflower Salad and favorite cut of meat was Linguica Sausage (pork sausage with red pepper, garlic and fresh onion). Also on the spring menu: Brazilian Kale & Orange Salad, Carrot & Ginger Soup, Creme de Coconut dessert, and Pork Picanha.
Along with alladat, we had grilled jumbo shrimp cocktail, lobster and shrimp appetizer, Pao de Queijo (cheesy bread rolls), and sampled two warm side dishes - garlic mashed potatoes and caramelized bananas (honestly, not our favorites).
All in all, it was a great experience! We went on a very rainy Thursday evening and it was still packed. I guess a lil' bit a whole lot of rain is not going to stop people from eating good food. So making a reservation is highly recommended.
