Every once in a while, I attend an event that exceeds my expectations.
This was the case at the Vik Winery Event at Fogo de Chao.

The event celebrated the partnership between the Brazilian steakhouse and the holistic Chile winery. While the attendees had the opportunity to sample three wines, only two of them will be included in the menu at the restaurant nationwide:
- Milla Cala - Red Blend, Millahue Valley, Chile, 2013: $13 (3 oz. glass); $25 (6 oz. glass); $93 (bottle)
- VIK - Red Blend, First Growth from Chile, 2013: $22 (3 oz. glass); $42 (6 oz. glass); $164 (bottle)
Not only did we do some sampling, we were also treated to a fully stocked bar, small plates, Market Table offerings, and a full churrasco dinner experience. When I tell you I was beyond full once done...wowza. Then to top it all off, a gift bag filled with goodies including a fully loaded Fogo de Chao gift card.
During the event, representatives of Vik Wine spoke passionately about how the winery came to be and why Fogo de Chao was chosen as their first U.S. restaurant partnership. I'm not much of a red wine aficionado (highest I'll do is sweet red wine) but I did enjoy how the selected wines paired wonderfully with certain food items.

Congratulations Vik Winery on the partnership with Fogo de Chao!
