My Labor Day weekend was spent at the Hamptons. It was a mini high school reunion, so you know there were a lot of reminiscing! And I got there in one piece thanks to the 2018 Toyota C-HR XLE.
This was not my first time driving a Toyota. In fact growing up, Toyota was one of the cars always in the driveway. Camry and Solara, to be exact. I was quite comfortable hopping into the car (Fun Fact: The color is called Silver Knockout Metallic).
The price range for a Toyota CHR is between $22,000-$26,000. With the affordable price tag, it boasts plenty of convenient features:
- 7-inch Touchscreen Display Audio System
- Integrated Fog Lights
- Color-Keyed Mirrors with Turn Signal Indicators
- Standard Dual Zone Climate Control
- Auto-Folding Mirrors
- Heated Sport Fabric Front Seats
- Standard 60/40 Split Rear Seats
- Smart Key with Push Button Start
- Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers
- Apple CarPlay
- USB Port and Bluetooth Wireless
The car has plenty of space up front and in the trunk but not so much for the back seats. Also, I didn't care much for the hidden rear door handles. The design is meant to enhance the coupe-like appearance of the car. Personally, it looked odd. Even though it's a considered a Crossover, the car looks more like 2 door midsize SUV. It really highlights how compact the car truly is. Finally, in this particular car, the front seats weren't power-adjustable.
The 2018 Toyota C-HR XLE was the right vacation car to accompany me from New Jersey to Southampton and back. The car was smooth on the road with minimal noise. As stated before, plenty of space for the driver so I never felt cramped. In fact, my drive was a breeze.
