Macy's recently launched their outlet store called Macy's Backstage. The store is a one-stop destination for all of your affordable shopping needs. I attended the grand opening at The Mall at Prince Georges over the weekend, the third location in the DC area following Dulles Town Center and Lakeforest Mall. Located on the 3rd level of the department store, Macy's Backstage carries Women (including plus size), Men, and Children apparel, Home Decor, Toys, Electronics, Gifts, Cosmetics, Beauty, Jewelry, Bags, and Accessories. What immediately caught my eye was a luxury case filled with discounted Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Gucci handbags and accessories. Other store features include free wi-fi (always a plus), mobile check-out stations, designated charging stations, and three-way mirror installations in the fitting rooms.
Speaking of fitting rooms, I took advantage of a large one. After ransacking the plus size section, I went to try on some clothes. I even documented my experience on Instagram Stories. Not a fan of trying on clothes but decided to do so on that day to make sure I walked away satisfied with the items. Well, I was satisfied...and saved my wallet over $80. My wallet thanked me. Included in my purchases were a vintage-inspired top, earrings, gourmet snacks (because, hunger), and the dress I'm wearing in this post.
The original price tag of this dress was $69.00. Marked down price: $24.99. Not bad at all. What attracted me to the dress was how the florals popped against the black background. Then there are the double tiered sleeves, high collar, and the subtle flounce hem. It's a sophisticated, feminine dress that honestly reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana. For some added drama, I went with a pair of oversized gold trim cateye sunglasses and tie-front point heels.
