It's nice to know there are so many great dining spots opening up around my area and beyond. It's not all the time I gotta make the hike to DC for some quick good food.
Such is the case with
ShopHouse Kitchen at
Pike & Rose.
From the good people of Chipotle (yes, that Chipotle), ShopHouse Kitchen is all about bringing their Southeast Asian flair into the fast-casual dining experience. I got that sense immediately when the options of brown rice, chilled rice noodles, jasmine rice, or salad were the choices to start off my
The ShopHouse Bowl. Then it gets better from there. Here's what I created: jasmine rice, pork & chicken meatballs, squash & thai basil, drizzled with peanut sauce, garnished herb salad, and finally, topped off with toasted rice, crispy garlic, and crushed peanuts.
YUM. YUM. YUM.
Also, got two crispy spring rolls. Because, of course.
If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend this place. Two floors plus outside dining areas. And the location is lovely. Nice area to walk around, check out some stores and boutiques, even check out a movie at iPic. Something I plan on doing very soon.
