Event: 2nd Annual DC Africa Festival
Where: Takoma Recreation Center
Summary: The weather was absolutely perfect on this day. So many people came out in droves to enjoy themselves at the festival. It was definitely a success. This festival has a special place in my heart because it was organized by my sister, Zi. Didn't I tell you that not only is she stylish but intelligent, too?
I wished I was able to take more pictures of the event but I used up all my memory card. Anywho, enjoy the few that I managed to capture:
This artist had an unique way of creating his work: painting while dancing. At first I was like, what is this man doing? There was definitely a madness to his method. He loves what he is does and it created such a buzz throughout the festival.
My friend, Milola (BSB partner in crime), with her husband. They run a personalized gift items company called Scripture Creations. |
The organizer of the festival (who just so happens to be my beautiful sister) Zi.

I loved how he represented wearing a traditional Igbo (Nigeria) wrapper. |

There was a parade of flags. I took a few pictures before I was dragged by my brother to help him carry the Namibia flag. No one was there to represent. :o(

I was so delighted that the very talented fashion stylist and creative director, Apuje Kalu, took time out of his busy schedule to present a fashion show that highlights African designers that are breaking into the fashion industry.
